*For those of you who will be presenting posters at the NASPSPA conference, poster boards are 4 x 8 foot tack boards (you will need to bring your own tacks).*
*Also, there will be no conference bags provided this year. If you need one, please bring one that you already have (it's a good chance to recycle ones from previous years or other conferences)!

The conference begins Thursday at noon and goes through the Saturday evening banquet. Also please consider attending the pre-conference workshop on Thursday morning
One reception ticket and one banquet ticket are included in the price of the conference registration. You will only need to order extras if you have guests attending with you.

PreConference Workshop:
Defining and Specifying Social Network Models $30
Interactions among people play an important role in affecting behavior and beliefs. This workshop focus is on theoretical model development of social networks, which can inform the design of studies, measures, and analysis. Participants should have roughly one year of applied statistics so that they are extremely comfortable with the general linear model (regression and ANOVA) and analysis of 2x2 tables.
*Friday Student Social
This year’s student social will be a party cruise that travels through Lake Austin, offering beautiful views of the downtown area. The dock is a 20-30 minute walk from the conference hotel, and boarding starts at 7:30 p.m. There will be a $7 fee to attend the student social with beer, wine, and snacks provided. Be sure to sign up at the registration desk as space is limited to 65 students.

NASPSPA 2009 Human Kinetics Lecturer:
Jason Scott Robert
Arizona State University
Dr. Jason Scott Robert is a Lincoln Associate Professor of Ethics in Biotechnology and Medicine in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. He is also Associate Professor of Basic Medical Sciences at The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix in partnership with Arizona State University. He teaches in the Bioethics Program within the Center for Biology and Society. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from McMaster University in 2000. Within the philosophy of biology, Dr. Robert has published extensively on philosophical issues in developmental biology, especially at the intersections of genetics and developmental biology. His first book, Embryology, Epigenesis, and Evolution: Taking Development Seriously, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2004. Dr. Robert currently serves on the Institute Advisory Board for the Canadian Institute of Population and Public Health. He also serves on the Advisory Committee on Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues of the Canadian Lifelong Health Initiative. In addition, Dr. Robert is one of the co-editors for Philosophy of Biology of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and serves on the editorial board of Biological Theory. The title of his Human Kinetics talk is, “Human ethology: The comparative biology of human nature.”
